Yesterday after pub was not feeling super great so only getting around to this gem right now and today is my last day at work! Very happy to see an album from the gret Monk included in the list. And it was already obvious before just how severly misrepresented jazz is here.. So it's a real treat to get some Monk, this is great stuff. Objectively I would rate it at 4 stars however feeling even a little bit generous, it only needs a tiny edge for me to reach perfection. No one played the keys like monk did, there is absolutetely no doubt about that and then you also have great Saxophone Collosus Sonny Rollins as well so what more could you want really? I just went and increased my RYM rating from 4.0 to 4.5 as I really like at least 4 out of 5 tracks so I think I will give this one top marks here as well.

Hey, I do like sitar quite a lot, but I definitely prefer the great Ravi Shankar, the uncle of Ananada and especially his great soundtrack for Apu Trilogy. Now this is not as good, mainly because it's not really original but rather renditions of popular rock songs at the time played with sitar, max of 3 stars probably, maybe even 2 as it's a bit meh. It does get a bit better on the 2nd side once its all original tracks and some traditional arrangements however still a bit weak.

Aaah, what an album! Super fun and really really good, from the Brighton's own! I am not in a very good mood today at all at this has brightened my morning indeed so it did it's job. Several extremely iconic tracks here and I loved some deep cuts as well. Groundbreaking electronic album, at least 4 strong stars indeed. Gave 4.5 on RYM but I will give 4 stars here, it's lacking just a ltitle bit to be truly top marks.

I was kind of waiting for this one, and I expected this to be rather good. And honestly not dissapointed at all! Very fun, garage-like rock, easy listen for sure. And what an iconig album cover too. Probably deserving solid 4 stars. But this could never rever reach the status of greateness for me, simply because it's not at all revolutionary in any sense at all, this has all been done, but it does sound fresh which I appreciate.

★David Bowie

Rated 10/10

Yet another masterpiece from Mr. Bowie! I am nor sure how did he manage to deliver so strongly especially considering as he was laying dying with this one.. and yet, this might be among his strongest statements. Obviously top marks.

Maybe this is a bit of unorthodox (or maybe not at all), but I think this is way better than other entry on this list from Mr. Cooper, which was "Schools Out". 4 great tracks and nice deep cuts too. Rounding up to 4 stars quite easily without much hesitation.

Very nice, to me sounds almost like an extension to White Stripes which really shouldn't be that surprising. I also had a pleasure of seeing Mr. White live many years ago in Brigthon so it's very nice to remember his sound, I really should go through his discography. Very nice modern take on blues rock, still sounds fresh. I will give it 3.5 on RYM but I will round up to 4 stars here, perhaps I was too generous with my rating for yesterday's album..

Actually this is quite interesting, not exactly what I expected. Super awesome to recognise "the worst band in the world" as being heavily sampled by J Dilla in "Workin On it" so thats very cool, crazy song. Def at least 2, maybe even 3 stars cause why not

Very decent stuff indeed. I'm just not that big fan of a new wave sound, but I do like it a lot, so probably 3 stars for me

I shouldn't read these silly reviews before any album to avoid any prejudices, also this is super highly rated on RYM so also probably shouldn't be aware of this. Now this is quite interesting, maybe not exactly my cup of tea, but there is really something here I'm sure. One of those albums which might take some time to get used to, however just from hearing almost half of it I would say between 2 and 3 stars. Not sure if my terminology is correct here but I found polyrhytmic qualities in songs really quite interesting and haven't focused on lyrics that much at all so far, will probably have to revisit after work before the final judgement

Alright! Getting another stones album right after getting The Beatles! And this is obviously a legendary one, but is lacking for me to reach that perfection. Nevertheless this is very strong 4 stars for me, great blues rock album.

In my opinion this is where it all really starts, with the release of this album they really take off and reach the whole new level and yet more is to come. Probably 5 stars. Though, admitetelly out of all 5 stars Beatles albums this might be the only one I have pondered between 4 and 5 for some reason..

Black MetalVenom

Rated 8/10

Crazy this is the only album on this list for "black metal" despite not being even close to what you would call black metal, but hey - it gave the name to the genre so I'll take it. This is incredibly influential album in the world of extreme. Musically maybe it's at least around 3 for me, but I'm inclined to raise it to 4 just out of spite for this list to barely contain any releases of extreme metal which is a shame, once again proving that the list authors know shit all about music, but this one is essential listening nevertheless

Take Me ApartKelela

Rated 4/10

Never heard of this artist before so naturally I kind of expected something interesting. And here comes the first song, not bad not bad, but with every subsequent song they all sounded pretty much the same, not much variety, yet another bland super-produced pop album, just boring through and through Im sorry. Max of 2 stars if not lower

Pretty pretty cool, very nostalgic electronic sounds. However I feel this type of sound is a bit outdated to me.. There is just so much variety of electronic music these days and this is a bit behind all of that, but I am sure it was highly influential then it came out. So, in regards to that, strong 2 stars.

Slayed?Slade

What a band Slade were.. Very fun stuff indeed, maybe a bit outdated though, but fun, quite easily 3 stars for me.

Rest in Peace Queen! Some solid sweet stuff in this album despite country not really being big thing for me, but this sounds so sincere and honest that you can't help but enjoy this and smile, at least 3, perhaps 4 stars. P.S. Nah, after finishing this, it's definitely no doubt 4 stars!

Another great album from family stone, no doubt one of the greatest funk albums of all time. Yet, I'm a bit baffled and dazed here about my choise of rating for this, already gave top marks from the other entry so I might stick to 4 here despite this having such an iconic album art too! Both entries of family on this list already got 4.5 on RYM each
