This sure did seem like a long time, despite only being ~40 minutes long. I have no reason to believe I'll be listening to this again, he lost me... but that's all right.

YsJoanna Newsom

Rated 8/10

Carol Kane and Björk had a Star Trek transporter accident baby and taught her how to play harp?

Lost SoulsDoves

Rated 6/10

I liked the proggy parts, not so much the bits where it sounded more like standard turn-of-the-millenium British indie rock. There's enough interesting stuff going on with the instruments to save it from going in the bin, but I'd rather be listening to an album that can commit to being prog or experimental.

Future DaysCan

Rated 10/10

I went on a krautrock binge thanks to this. Can is officially on the list of artists I'm going to keep an eye out for at the record store.

Live album with crowd noise that drags at times. Listening to Ball and Chain in its entirety has it living up to its name. I think it would have been better to be there than to listen to the recording.

This is hilariously over the top German performance art. Are there a bunch of people trying to take it seriously and then rating low because of that? Amateurs.

The ChronicDr. Dre

Rated 4/10

I realize that a big part of gangsta rap is the posturing and braggadocio, but boy oh boy does "I am violent and use drugs and have the best 🍆" get old fast. I did my first "is it over yet?" check around the halfway point.

If I never hear the words "dick in your mouth" again after listening to this album, it'll still be too soon.

Sea ChangeBeck

Rated 6/10

Normally I like Beck, but this is sad Beck and I don't care for sad music. Back to Odelay I go!

Young, punky Nick Cave. Decent enough, no idea why it's so low on the global rankings. If anything, there wasn't quite enough new and interesting about the combination of punk and Nick Cave.

The distraction from crowd noise was very mild, and Deep Purple could freaking PLAY. Even the 20 minutes of prolonged Space Truckin' was a fun listen. I can see why this sold so well!
