Future DaysCan

Rated 6/10

Talented people making somewhat boring music. Drums are very forward, and the guy can clearly play, but not enough happens to justify the teack lengths.

I really, really, don't buy into the whole persona, and the last couple of tracks are pretty terrible. Strong start though, and honestly much better than I expected.

How does she have several albums on this list? There's just nothing essential about any of this. Clumsy lyrics, extremely generic music, very limited vocals. This time we get an atrocious collaboration with the Radiohead guy. Bleh.

I bought this album when it came out, and it blew my mind. Listening to it again it's doing the same. There's so much going on, and so much atmosphere and raw creativity.

Short album, short tracks. Everything works, but not as complete as London Calling.

Sepultura released Roots when I was 14 years old. That album blew my mind, and shaped how I expect metal to sound. This is a very different sound, and really closer to generic thrash metal. It's not bad, but it's missing all the more interesting rythmic elements that made me love Sepultura in the first place.

I am by no means American, so this is really, really not a style of music I'd normally go for. Most likely because the type of country I'm actually exposed to is overproduced and very generic.
I have to say I have a weak spot for Willie Nelson though. I don't know enough about him to know if he's actually as authentic as he sounds. This was a great way to spend half an hour though.

I didn't care for this back in 1995, and I don't really care for it now. It's not bad, it's just pretty uninspired.
