Rated 6/10
A couple of decent tracks on here, I quite enjoyed She Wants To Move and Drill Sergeant, but not one that’s going to live long in the memory. Still after back to back one stars this was an oasis in the desert lol.

Fuck me two one stars in a row. I was willing to go to a 2 up until Ramblin’ On My Mind. Hated it and everything that came afterwards. Felt like it went on for a bloody eternity. Hated this, absolutely hated it.
Rated 2/10
This is far from the worst album on here but I started losing interest in it before the end of track 2. I’m actually struggling to remember much about it, it was definitely an album I listened to.
When I read up on this and saw he had been a member of Fairport Convention I had low expectations. I hated Unhalfbricking lol. Fortunately this was a massive improvement.
This was one of those albums where I liked every track on it, without there being anything that blew me away. It probably ranks towards the low end of my four stars but still a good listen.
Top Track - The Calvary Cross
Rated 6/10
This one starts brilliantly with Laura and Take Your Mama. Two absolutely cracking tracks.
Then there’s the cover of Comfortably Numb. I didn’t like it when it originally came out and I’m still not that fussed on it. I will give them respect though for doing something completely different with the song. It’s just not for me.
After that nothing really did much for me until Filthy/Gorgeous which is probably the strongest of the singles for me.
Overall it’s a good album, one or two more standout tracks and I’d probably give it a 4 star. I do massively prefer the follow up album Ta-Dah though.
Top Track - It Can’t Come Quickly Enough. Never really paid attention to it when the album originally came out but enjoyed it today.
Not a bad album but it became background music by the end. Just couldn’t hold my attention.
Rated 6/10
Every time I get a Morrissey album I think, can’t be arsed listening to him. Then I end up enjoying it but never enough to want to go back and listen again. This album was no different.
There are a couple of standouts. Suedehead and I Don’t Mind If You Forget Me are cracking tunes. I just know that I am highly unlikely to ever listen to this in full again though.
Top Track - Suedehead
Rated 8/10
I didn’t have high hopes for this going in. The only song I know from Hot Chip off the top of my head is Over And Over which I don’t really care for. I was pleasantly surprised then with the opener of this, Motion Sickness, which is an absolutely belting track.
The strong tracks continued until Look At Where We Are which I wasn’t fussed on at all. This was followed by another dud for me in These Chains. I kinda figured the album would carry on downhill but luckily Night And Day was another cracker which got me right back into it.
The rest of the album, while really good, never hit another high like that again. It’s definitely one I’ll return to though.
Top Track - Motion Sickness
RIP Dolly Parton. Goes without saying she was an absolute legend with an all time voice.
Unfortunately this album didn’t do anything for me. Gotta score it like I would any other day. I was pretty bored by the end of it.
I will say though I listened to most of Jolene afterwards. Infinitely better album for me. Quite surprised it isn’t on the list. If it had been, from what I’ve heard, it would probably be getting a 4 star.
I didn’t like the first track at all but it picked up after that. It’s not an album that’s going to live long in the memory but it was an enjoyable enough listen.
Top Track - Where Is Yesterday
Rated 10/10
I haven’t listened to this in full in forever. I’d forgotten how much I love Time To Pretend and Electric Feel in particular but pretty much the whole first half of the album is banger after banger.
I’ve never been overly fussed on anything from 4th Dimensional Transition onwards but today I really enjoyed everything on the album. Maybe it’s a case of me listening to music differently since I’ve been doing this list.
Top Track - Electric Feel
Rated 4/10
The title track was pretty good but then I gradually lost interest until it picked up again with Till Your Well Runs Dry.
I will say though Reggae is still a big blindspot for me. Even with doing this list, I’ve generated very few albums of the genre so haven’t really gained an appreciation of it yet.
Top Track - Till Your Well Runs Dry
Rated 8/10
Straight out the gate, I liked the nod to Harry Nilsson in the album title.
As for the album itself, it’s a really fun listen. It’s a bit weird but I like weird and it’s interesting throughout. The opening track, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Pelvis is an absolute belter. Jarvis Cocker pops up in it and I’m always glad to hear him.
A couple of the instrumental tracks didn’t do a massive amount for me but I never lost interest in the album. It was enough though that it was never going to get a five star.
Top Track - The Sweetest Embrace
Rated 6/10
With the exception of Mr Brightside, everything up to Andy, You’re A Star was great. Even with Brightside it’s not that it’s a terrible song, it’s just the definition of overplayed.
There is a drop off for me after AYAS but the album ends with a belter in Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll.
Overall it’s a good album with a couple of bangers. I do massively prefer the follow up album Sam’s Town though. That would be a definite 5 star.
Top Track - Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll
Rated 8/10
My third album from The Byrds and after two 2 stars previously this is by far my favourite that I’ve heard from them.
It didn’t ever get close to 5 star territory but I enjoyed it from start to finish. I think I have two more albums to come from them so hopefully they’re as good as this was.
Rated 8/10
So when this generated, I saw it was an Electronic album with it’s awful album cover and my expectations could not have been lower but surprisingly this was a fun listen. There wasn’t any standout track that will stick with me but, apart from the final track, I enjoyed everything on here. Can’t really ask for much more than that.
Rated 2/10
Did not like this whatsoever. I already knew Poison Arrow which I bloody hate and the rest of the album wasn’t much of an improvement.
Rated 8/10
If we scored in decimals this is a 4.9 star, it’s so close to being a 5 for me but just didn’t quite get me to that point.
It is a great album though. There have been instrumental albums where my mind has started to wander at times but even when there was sections I wasn’t particularly feeling, I was pulled back into it pretty quickly.
Overall, wasn’t massively fussed on this one. Didn’t do much for me and towards the end it really felt like it was going on forever.
The one exception was Mr. Wendal. What an absolute belter of a track. Wish the rest of the album had been even half as good.
Rated 6/10
For the first three tracks I was really enjoying this and we were looking at a 4 or 5 star album. Unfortunately it fell away for me after that. There wasn’t anything bad but nothing I liked anywhere near as much as tracks 1-3.
Top Track - Runaway Child, Running Wild
