Catchy as hell. At times it sounds like he's using a synth from a NES sound chip. Other times I'm getting early Daft Punk vibes. Or maybe a smoother Justice? I can dig this. A lot of what here makes great background doing chores or studying music. Very upbeat.

Keeps your energy up. I really like it.

I've never really been into pop music from the 90s/00s. That's not different here. Though I guess if I was forced to pick a pop band from that era you could do much worse than Destiny's Child. I like when the lean more into hip-hop, like in "Dance With Me" and "Happy Face" is undeniably catchy.

The singles are alright, but this is another "not for me" kind of album.

I put this album up there with Scum's "Napalm Death" or the Sex Pistols' "Nevermind the Bollocks"... I'm on board with their politics, have huge respect for their influence on the genre, and love a lot of the artists that came after, deeply influenced by them...

But I don't actually like listening to this. Too cacophonous. None of the samples or beats really grip me.

Yeah, it's alright. Not the best, not the worst. Certainly made an impact when it came out and that can bring a lot of weird attention to a band. I didn't love it as much as some people did back in the day, but "Rollin" and "My Way" remain absolute bangers. Not sure I understand the positive critical re-evaluation some nu-metal bands are getting... they were fine then, they remain fine now.

MadTV's "Keep Posin'" was a great sketch. Will Sasso makes a good Fred Durst.

I did not love this, going to be honest! Did someone steal Cohen's guitar? Give that man back his guitar and take away the synthesizer!

There were a few tracks I didn't mind too much. "First We Take Manhattan" was alright, and I admittedly enjoyed "Take This Waltz" and even "Jazz Police"--but this is a version of Cohen I don't really care for or need.

I'd never heard of The Stone Roses but damn this is a really good album. Huh. I wasn't sure at first, but it keeps getting better the further in you get. You get to the end and it's like the beginning of the album comes together. "Don't Stop" and "Made of Stone" standouts, but this is easily going in regular rotation.

Pretty decent. Makes a good album to listen to while studying or cleaning. Not my favourite kind of electronica, but I enjoyed what was here. Consistent album.

Rated 6/10

"OK" was OK! Not my favourite kind of electronica, but I'd leave this on in the background. "Butterfly" is a really, really good track. There were times throughout I kept thinking "Man, they should get Singh to work on the next Shin Megami Tensei soundtrack". I bet he could make one hell of a battle theme.

Middling Bowie album. I like "Win" and "Fame", but everything else I can live without. It also has just about the corniest cover of "Across the Universe" I've ever heard of.

One of my favourite albums in high school. Beautiful. Ethereal. I borrowed a copy of this and ( ) off of a friend and it cemented Sigur Ros as one of my all timers. Changed the way I listened to music.

Man, I adore this album. Section 80 was great and To Pimp A Butterfly is unquestionably brilliant too, but for my money, I'd still put this as my top Kendrick album. "Sing About Me/I'm Dying of Thirst" I'd pick as my personal favourite track, but there's not a single skip here. The bonus disc tracks are brilliant too.

Rated 6/10

Ehh, I've never loved the album. The Wall works great as a cinematic experience. I really enjoyed the movie. I do not love it as solely a soundtrack, though. There's a few tracks on here I really like, but I am happy to skip most of it as it all starts to blend together.

Rated 6/10

I'm not a huge Aerosmith fan, by any stretch of the imagination. Can't argue that this is certainly the most listenable, though. "Janie's Got a Gun" has always been damn good. It's decent. I don't mind it.

Being ThereWilco

Rated 8/10

When I first heard this album years ago I bounced right off of it. Thought it was okay but too long. Wilco really clicked for me with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born. Relistening to this now thought I've really come around to it more.

This album is really damn good.

Great album! Absolutely my jam. When I was a starving student and had a very limited budget for extras, this CD was a worthy investment. No skips, track after track of good tunes. I was a little surprised it was on this list though. Even at the time I didn't think it was particularly groundbreaking. Still, loved MGMT's first album.
