How suiting to have an Oasis album after one of McCartney. It didn't seem so long in my memory but hopefully the bangers are sprinkled everywhere.

Favorite songs: Rock'n'Roll Star ; Live Forever ; Supersonic

It's a tie between The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robot for the best Flaming Lips album in my book. It's an album with symphonic ambitions and it works. The tunes are catchy and the lyrics are silly but touching anyway.

Favorite Songs: Race for the Prize ; The Spark that Bled ; Waitin' for a Superman

Elevator music. Nice voice, unremarkable but not badly executed music. Totally forgettable.

What a set up from the Sugarcubes, the voice and singing is still very expressive and incredible. But what makes this album stand out is that she embraced the trip hop wave that has been getting traction and she made it hers. But it's not the only genre she made hers : it's indeniably pop and also dance music. A really groundbreaking album.

And of course there is this long list of flawless tubes.

I loved the small introduction where he talks directly to us. Because of that I will round up my rating to 2.

It's an album from my youth so of course I'm gonna rate it higher than the others. We have a bias towards music we used to listen when we were in our prime.

For me this album popularized electronic music, I knew it existed of course but I didn't care. The Chemical Brothers and a few others made me care and I still vividly remembers some of their shows.

So yes it's probably a 3.5 or 4 but with the "album from my youth" bias I'll give it a solid 4 maybe 5.

I don't remember much from this album and I don't want to go back to it to rate it accurately. I think that this statement in itself means it must be a 2.

So many great songs. It's difficult to put less than 5 stars on this album.

Favorite Songs: Come Together ; I Want You ; Here Comes the Sun

Another great album, great tunes, great melody it makes people understand why The Smiths are still important.

Favorite Songs: I Started Something I Couldn't Finish ; Girlfriend in a Coma ; Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before

The bass and the dumming alone make this album very good. Add to that the great melodies and it's a very solid album.

Favorite Songs: Drive My Car ; Girl ; In My Life

I must confess that I only know them through the Velvet Goldmine score. And it fits so well the movie that they deserve half a star just for this memory. It will be 4 because I'm rounding up.

Favorite Songs: 2 H.B. ;

While I really appreciate the minimalism and the 8bit esthetic (though it wasn't called 8bit in 1977) I am a bit puzzled by the voices. Nevertheless a visionary album.

And also trains are cool.

Favorite Songs: Europe Endless ; Trans Europe Express

Some big band songs followed by ballads. Ray Charles has a really great voice but I didn't like the strings it was a bit too much for my taste.

It's a lengthy drum'n'bass album and even if I quite like the genre it doesn't make the cut for me. Maybe another day.
