Very much a product of its time, and I'm sure I bopped to some of these tunes in the dance halls, but there was far better music around at this time: Layo & Bushwacka's "Night Works" is more experimental and musically literate, while Etienne de Crecy's "Super Discount 2" turbocharged the French touch. "Destroy Rock & Roll" probably sold more copies than both of them put together, but that doesn't mean it's the better record.

Although I found myself head bopping throughout this; and I liked Drop The Pressure; the In My Arms sampling remix one was weird; Destroy Rock & Roll started off amusing... "David BOO-wie, Cyndi LOOP-er", but went on far too long. The rest of the tracks all seemed to blur together in an EDM soup.

Rated 4/10

Not what I expected (in my head this was always more like a drop-heavy EDM album). It's not very good, lost at how this was so well regarded. Close to 1*

Surprised how much I enjoyed this album today, probably a mix of my bias towards Scottish Artists, and ideal Sunday morning tunes.

It certainly didn’t destroy rock and roll, but made my Sunday morning, added
To my frequent rotation.

Totally unexpected and fantastic! Really fun and creative :) made me miss making this kind of music

Rated 2/10

Endlessly repetitive looping, briefly interrupted by the sound of me skipping to the next track.

Rated 6/10

Kinda not that interesting.

Rated 8/10

Pretty groovy, remember it from first time around

Rated 8/10

Sounds like lounge music.

Started out quite slow and then "Drop the pressure" threw me back down memory lane. Didn't know that it was from Mylo. Same with "In my Arms".

Rated 4/10

Not that bad, but mostly background music. Also, rock & roll will never die, no matter how hard everyone tries.

Rated 4/10

Pish, but Scottish, so the lowest it can score is 2. There's barely a germ of a decent song in the whole thing, and this should be nowhere near the list.

2 it is!

Rated 6/10

Never listened to this before, but I have heard of Mylo. Pretty good so far, nice chilled out electronica, á la Air, Lemon Jelly, or the Orb.

Once I got to "Drop the Pressure", I realised why I recognized this; some of these songs were ubiquitous back in the day. I enjoy a good mash-up every now and then, and had a minor obsession with Girl Talk when I was in college. Some of this is really inventive. Sunworshiper and Musclecar have good instrumentals, while Drop the Pressure and In My Arms are real earworms. But overall it kind of feels like the musical equivalent of junk food - style over substance.

Rated 8/10

Yeah baby. This is definitely my jam. I prefer the more down-tempo tracks, but the rest are still a nice upbeat happy time. I'd never heard of this before, but I think it'll enter the rotation given how easy-listening it is.

3.5 rounded up.

Rated 6/10

Perfectly fine ambient music. Something I could probably program to. But not something I'd choose to listen to, at least not most days.

Rated 10/10

Maybe. its. just. me. but. every. vocal. is. just. a. list. of. things.

Rated 8/10

Groovy tunes. I really liked Sunworshipper and Destroy Rock & Roll. Would definitely listen to this again. Seems like it would make a fine road trip album.

Rated 8/10

This is a fun electronica album.

Rated 4/10

Musical junk food; enjoyable but devoid of nutritional content.

Rated 10/10

Is this the start of low-fi? It's amazing! It starts that way but then hypes up. This is the dance electronica fusion we needed.
