The Good: High Level!
The Bad: Something something left…
The Ugly: Not understanding the level that we are high in…

Who’d have thought that one needs to listen to an album by a Congolese artist before one dies? I was always under the impression that Senegal was where it’s at…

Also, to all those snowflakes who rate this album low because they scan through a Wikipedia page to read something about a rape and instantly cancelling the artist… keep reading the damn page, to see that he was never convicted of rape, but he did receive a conviction for assault…

Anyways, I’ve listened to the album, guess I can die now?

Not only is it mid but this guy is a contender for one of the ugliest album covers on Spotify, shit's hilariously awful

Rated 4/10

I've really enjoyed all of the African music this list has put in front of me. This... not so much. Soukous sounds a lot like Soca to my ears and I'm just not fond of it. Koffi has an undeniably strong voice, but I just can't get into the jerky rhythms and pop production overall.

Rated 4/10

Made me want to dance but I simultaneously lost my mind because I swear the same song played 4 or 5 times throughout the album

Rated 4/10

Very long, fun, but I didn't understand it at all, so I don't want to listen to it again.

Rated 6/10

As soon as he answered the telephone mid-song on the first track I knew this was going to be a fun album. A little repetitive, but fun.

Rated 6/10

this was fine. it started out a lot of fun but got repetitive pretty quickly

Rated 4/10

It's ok

African Soukus music for people who really hate African Soukus music,

By Mbokomu, of all those 1000's of amazing albums the Congo has to offer, THIS is the one that makes the pick? THIS ONE?

Rated 6/10

It's a fine album with quite varied instrumentation. I don't mind not being able to understand the lyrics. I love African melody and best choices from this era and maybe even a bit earlier. Still, kinda leaves me wanting a touch on several levels. Feels unbalanced in some way on most tracks.

Rated 6/10

It’s calypso. Would work for a beach party. Not bad. Not my favorite style.

Rated 6/10

It's not bad, I don't mind stuff like this coming up on the list as it provides and interesting change of pace and stuff I wouldn't otherwise seek out. Alright in the background, feels a bit like tourist trap music.

Rated 2/10

There is a yeah yeah yeah’s album that belongs on this list, but it’s Fever to Tell.

Rated 6/10

happy

Rated 4/10

It was ok I suppose, I didn't hate it. I like the bit of variety this gives compared to the rest of the albums on this list

It's very samey, which is bad for an hour long album as it just gets tedious to listen to fast

Didn't really invoke anything in me but I can see why people would enjoy this

Rated 10/10

Just took one look at this guy and knew I was going to love this album immediately. Bright, joyful, and catchy; it could almost be the music from Sonic The Hedgehog. I wish every Monday morning started with this soundtrack.

Did not understand a word. Ok overall, but most of it sounded the same. 2.5/5

Rated 8/10

It's pretty

Rated 6/10

A little more latin sounding than I expected, but solid non-the-less. 3/5
