Now we're talking. Al Green just makes being this soulful sound effortless.

Rated 6/10

Singing along with the title track here!

I am not a big soul music person, but of course I remember a lot of this record from back in the day. There's something about the how it all works together with his vocals that's appealing, especially the subtle guitar and the horn section.

I could have done without the Bee Gees cover, but otherwise this was a fine example of early 70s soul music.

3 stars; high end of 3.

This is an enjoyable listen with two out and out classics. I have always preferred ‘How to mend a broken heart’ to ‘Let’s stay together’ but there’s not a lot in it.
Outside of these two tracks I really enjoyed ‘It aint no fun to me’.
It’s strange then that i dont see this as anything above a 3.5/5.

I listened to a big chunk of this album walking along on a warm day with a gentle breeze and it was just the perfect combination.

Al Green has a fabulous voice and I love the accompaniment. One of those rare albums where the most famous song being track 1 didn't feel, for me at least, like everything that followed was a disappointment - I liked everything.

As a complete side note, Al Green's Wikipedia Personal Life section is *a lot*.

I enjoyed this, but not 5 stars of enjoyment, so:

4/5

2.75. I mean, it's ok...

Very pleasant to listen to. Voice like butter. Songs not the strongest but still good and well produced.

Rated 8/10

Just a great soul album. Think I prefer Marvin Gaye in general, but this is damn close with a few really fantastic hits. Gives me "Going to Cedar Point" vibes, similar to Chicago to me, although Al Green is much better than Chicago.

Rated 8/10

This was a really groovy record. Not 5 star material for me personally, but groovy and amazing all around. Loved my time with it.

Rated 8/10

Very cool stuff, good flow, great voice, great album!

Rated 10/10

Some of the best soul music ever. Al Green’s voice can make anything good

Rated 6/10

This album is all smooth, gospel infused soul, and Al Green's vocals are just amazing. The production has this effortless cool vibe, the horns are tight, the guitar is perfect, and the whole thing has this chill, beautiful groove, perfect for a lazy Sunday. It's a lesson in keeping it simple and sounding good, feels more like listening to some good vibes than a performance.

It feels like the album hits its high point right away. "Let's Stay Together" is a killer opener, but after that, things kinda fall off a bit. I;ve said it before, never blow your load on track 1... To quote Mitch Hedberg, "dude, you have to wait!"

Rated 10/10

Oooh this was a vibe! And what a voice. Smooth

Solid, but somehow didn't totally grab me. Possibly not helped by doing a load of work at the same time. Likely better than I am rating right now.

Rated 8/10

this was actually really good despite my feelings about soul. just cute

Rated 8/10

Yes Al let’s .. immediate repeat listening required

Rated 4/10

Soul isn't my preferred style of music, but this album is no doubt groovy and catchy. It would be good to listen to if you're down and want to lift your spirits. Most everything on here is upbeat and definitely passionate. Not my favorite, but I can appreciate the sentiments.

This album is short and sweet, and I thought each song was great. 5/5

Rated 8/10

Hip hop samples could definitely be heard here. Vocals slap as always
