A few classics, particularly the title track, and a fair bit of filler, such as the reprise of a song on the following track. The good songs are so good, and the filler just good enough, that this has to score well. I just wish they had put more effort into making more even albums, or just fewer albums, so their great songs weren't spread so thinly.

I've listened to this twice now, and I've come to the conclusion that it's really good. There's some great upbeat numbers, as well as some really nice ballads. It's pretty consistently quality throughout, and the instrumentation is on point. It's got a real easy listening vibe to it.
I'm going a solid 4/5.
But... you know, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Enjoyed it.

Almost too good. Now hated by those who consider it "dad rock" etc, but come on - this is world class choonage.
Rated 8/10
Un disco que empieza con una canción increíble, seguida de una que está muy bien y un ar que están bien sin más. Entre el 3 y el 4, creo que solo por la canción del título se merece el 4.

11/10. This is THE album.

Probably don't need another Big Lebowski quote on here so we'll skip that. This album is...fine. The title track is great but even that I normally skip when it comes up on a playlist or the old fashioned radio.
I confess that I had never actually listened to this whole album, and I don't feel like I ever will again. Victim of Love was the only other song I really liked on this album and I'm not sure I had ever actually heard it before. I have Life in the Fast Lane with a passion.
In the end, this is The Eagles and I'm just not a fan.

So great
Rated 8/10
Memes aside, the title track honestly slaps. The rest of the album is honestly similarly great. Hits a good balance between dark and brooding, but still upbeat and catchy.
Rated 8/10
I don't think I had ever listened to this whole album before, it's pretty good. I don't think I'd say the was Abad song on here; some were much better than others, but over all quite enjoyable. 4/5

Vähän kulunut levy kyl, en jaksanu innostua enää. 2/5

Pretty good. I am a little tired of Hotel California the song but can definitely appreciate it for what it is. 4/5

This is probably my favorite standalone Eagles album. It's the first one where they sort of shed their country sound and go pure mainstream rock. Maybe a bit too safe or pop for some, but overall, I'm happy when most of the songs on this album come on. And sure, Hotel California has been overplayed, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's overplayed because it's excellent.

I hate the eagles this validates my whole world view with it's awfulness

Obligatory Lebowski
Rated 4/10
The whole is not necessarily greater than the sum of its parts.

I know this album quite well from my youth, and the main reason I never listen to this album is due to the immensely overplayed ànd overrated title track. I could never again go past the first track. Now I've listened to it again and with one exception, Life In The Fast Lane, this entire album to me tries to balance the line between emotion and kitsch. But too many times falls over to the latter (Pretty Maids All In A Row, Wasted Time, The Last Resort) that this is an unlistenable mess.
It's just really not for me. Glad I did the re-listen though.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a fan of The Big Lebowski AND I like the Eagles.
For me, this album is all about nostalgia, it got played a lot when I was a kid. The production, musicianship and guitar work are top notch. The opening of Hotel California gets me every time!
The second half (in terms of side B on the LP), starts to feel a bit dreary.
I like the anecdote about "The Last Resort" taking days to record, because they kept messing up because Black Sabbath were making too much noise in the studio next door!
Rated 10/10
This is the first album I've recieved that I have listened to many times before. That didn't stop me from listening to it again! I love The Eagles, and this album is a gem! Glenn Frey & Don Henley's vocals are amazing, and the harmonies reached by the band are wonderful! The addition of Joe Walsh on guitar was awesome, and his solos throughout this album are terrific! The addition of strings in Wasted Time brings that slow ballad to a whole new level!
Favourite songs : Life in the Fast Lane (awesome, rocking song), Hotel California, Victim of Love, Try and Love Again
Least favourite song: if forced to choose, Wasted Time
