I was once criticised for playing bass like a lobotomised Peter Hook. This was inaccurate. I was playing bass like a lobotomised Steve Severin. I think he is so underrated.

I like the idea of Siouxsie much more than I actually like the output

I’ll be honest, it was better than I expected it to be. I’m not sure I think it was *good,* but I can definitely see why this band is so influential.
Firstly the bad: I cannot stand her voice. I don’t really like the punk affectation in general, so that’s no real surprise. That said, it doesn’t sound out of place. Like, in isolation, it’s shit, but with the music it sort of fits, if that makes sense.
And so the good: it’s super creative. It definitely sounds like what is is: an 80s, punk-inspired, alt-rock, grunge precursor. But what makes it so influential is that this album was released before alt-rock was really a thing and WAY before grunge.
I can’t give it a 4 because I didn’t love it and I don’t really need to hear it again, but it almost deserves a 4 for its creativity and its future-proofed sound. 3.5

Very important college radio album - very unique sound.
Rated 8/10
This had my foot tapping.
The second song has no low-end. This put me off. Apart from that, I enjoyed this dark, lively album

Hienolla tavalla tummasävyinen ja jopa uhkaava levy sekä komea ääni laulajalla. Tätä varmaan tulee tulevaisuudessakin kuunneltua. 4/5

Punk? Goth? Whatever the label that voice is amazing
Rated 6/10
It was more interesting than I was expecting, but it didn't do much to me. It was pretty good though. I enjoyed it.

I knew Peekaboo, but never heard anything else by them. I definitely missed out - this album rocks and you can hear how it influenced a lot of 1980s (and later) alternative rock. The only track I could have done without was Voodoo Dolly - a very weird way to end such a cool album, but didn't detract enough for me to deduct a point. The rest of the album is just plain awesome - layers of dark coolness overlaid with Siouxsie's unique, powerful voice. Favorite tracks: Spellbound, Arabian Knights, Monitor, Night Shift.

Really good album. Lovely piece of post-punk that I'll be sure to listen more.
Rated 10/10
This album is fantastic. I have played it 3 times in a row very early on a Saturday morning making this a great start to the weekend.
There are some great tunes like Arabian nights and Monitor.
Favourite song: Monitor
Least favourite: All great tunes.
Album artwork: Great cover, I have no idea what is going on with it.
Rated 4/10
I really appreciate music of this era (and atmosphere). That being said, this one didn't grab me as much as others have. 2/5
Rated 6/10
enjoyed it more than i thought i would - had me tapping my toes a couple times
Rated 10/10
The youth may think Stevie Nicks is witchy, but little do they know about the dark magic and gothic spells of Siouxsie, rock's best Susan. This album sounds like a decomissioned barbed wire factory cursed for being built on a druidic ceremonial site and haunted by centuries of ghouls.
Rated 10/10
I liked this one a lot. The powerful drums, interesting guitar work, and really good vocals work with the gothic/punk esthetic quite well. Really great stuff here.
Rated 6/10
good, but a bit weird for me. too much vocal pretentiousness, not enough guitars!
Rated 1/10
Quite annoying singing with distorted guitars in the background (nothing against the latter though).
