This is just a Renaissance jester reciting bad slam poetry to terrible backing music that doesn't line up with the poem. This isn't music, it's someone's art project.

Favourite songs: All the Pretty Little Horses, All the Pretty Little Horsies (the same as the song "All the Pretty Little Horses" except the lyrics are whispered), The BloodBells Chime, The Carnival is Dead and Gone, The Long Shadow Falls

Least favourite songs: The Inmost Night, Twilight Twilight Nihil Nihil, The Inmost Light Itself

When I was younger, I kinda wrote Dave Matthews Band off because they're kinda a jam band (their songs are typically 6 minutes plus), and I didn't have the appreciation or attention span to enjoy it. I've since developed my tolerance for it more and it's actually pretty solid. Lots of grit in his vocals (especially in the song Halloween where it sounds like he's sacrificing his vocal chords.... In a good way). Thanks to the OP for recommending this album and reintroducing me to Dave Matthews.

Favourite songs: Halloween, Stay (Wasting Time), Crash, Rapunzel, The Last Stop, Don't Drink the Water

This is the John Martyn album that should have been on the 1001 list by a Mile! The two that were included on the official list (Solid Air, and One World) floundered, and didn't really have any sense of direction, but this is some jazz rock, with folk mixed in. Pretty solid all around record. I didn't mind this at all!

Favourite songs: Grace and Danger, Some People Are Crazy, Sweet Little Mystery, Our Love

Least favourite songs: Lookin' On

This band includes Chad Gray from Mudvayne, Tom Maxwell from Nothingface, and Vinnie Paul from Pantera. It's the same alt metal as Five Finger Death Punch or like.... Static-X maybe? It's like metal for soft people who don't know what metal is. It is to metal what Nickelback is to rock. The album cover should tell you all you need to know. Band members trying to appear hard, surrounded by metal, chrome, fire, and a Parental Advisory Sticker...

It's like the Kid Rock of metal. Try hard, and pop-ified for people pretending to be hard. Even the lyrics tend to be cringe-worthy. I mean, to each their own with provolone, but to someone who likes and appreciates actual metal, this is just kinda gross...

This is metal for kids who have just discovered what swearing is...

Favourite songs: Rotten to the Core, GodDamn, Matter of Time, You Wouldn't Know

Least favourite songs: Waging War, Alcohaulin' Ass

60's psychadelic rock. Reminds me of Sgt Pepper era Beatles. Has a side of funk thrown in there for good measure too. Actually pretty solid. Really weird by times, as the British tend to be, but I dig it.

Favourite songs: I Was Cool, Flames, Mary Jane, Talk of the Devil, Volcano

Least favourite songs: Air, Dream Starts, Reactions of a Young Man, Salisbury Plain, Dreamy

Belgian indie is better than American indie in every way, but it's still indie...

Really picked up steam by the end of the record, but not enough to redeem the boring first half of the record.

Favourite songs: Everybody's Weird, Instant Street, The Ideal Crash, Put the Freaks Up Front

Least favourite songs: "One Advice, Space", Magdalena

Vocals remind me a lot of Kings of Leon. Music sounds like Grateful Dead crossed with Phish. Suffers the way all jam bands do. Overstaying their welcome and spending far too long canoodling. May be cool if actually at this concert, but to be completely detached and just listening to it, it loses something. As jam bands go, this is definately one of the better ones.

Favourite songs: Offshoot, Poseidon

Least favourite songs: Lightning

Fairly middle of the road indie. Nothing really sets this apart from the droves of acts just like it. By times they sound like Radiohead (I hate those moments.... Fuck Thom Yorke.)

Favourite songs: Broadripple Is Burning, Holy Cow!, As Tall As Cliffs, A Children's Crusade on Acid

Least favourite songs: "Cold, Kind, and Lemon Eyes", Hello Vagina
