Dude who was upset about this album is probably butt hurt because Werewolves of London didn't end up being All Summer Long by Kid Rock. Settle down.
A fantastic album from an artist that, I feel, didn't get enough recognition. This is some good shit!!

A Pink Floyd album I am unfamiliar with. Was a great album. It is one of those that needs to be listened cover to cover to really appreciate the message it is conveying. Sadly, a lot of the political issues it raises are still very much alive and well in today's society as well. I'm glad to have become acquainted with this album. Not Floyd's best, but certainly worth recognizing.

This album is like dark alt country/blues? Similar vein to MJ Lenderman or Bill Callahan (we had one of his albums on the 1001 list) or Bonnie "Prince" Billy (also had an album on the 1001 list). Almost like doom country. A unique genre of music that I have very little exposure to, but like quite a bit. I will have to explore it more.

The definition of a jam band. 12 songs, 2hr 11mins run-time. My ADHD won't allow me to focus on 30 minute songs, and I really don't care to.... It's just people canoodling on their instruments incessantly. I'm not on enough LSD for this. Similar to Grateful Dead, I like their album material, but couldn't give an ounce of a fuck about their live drug fueled horseshit.

More Canadian representation, this time from BC. I remember my first exposure to their music was their song Hello Time Bomb, which I heard on an album I'd purchased (Big Shiny Tunes 4). Falls into that alt rock category that occured right after grunge died. I then remember seeing a lot more of his stuff on MuchMusic after that (Load Me Up, Apparitions, The Future is X-Rated, Weapon). Something about them never fully hit with me. I mean, not awful, but something was missing. The hits were huge, but everything else was just filler. Similar style to early Our Lady Peace, Sam Roberts Band, Econoline Crush, or Big Wreck. Seeing that, it's right up my alley of musical taste, but Matthew Good was always just mid. Coulda been because Matthew Good himself was a huge douche too, I'm not sure.

Indie rock similar to TV on the Radio, Modest Mouse, or Arcade Fire. The one thing that struck me funny is the fact that the band is playing along normally, all while the drummer shreds his drum set. It's like watching Animal from the Muppets play drums. Dude is high, fast energy. Definately the star of the band. Super talented

Not my style. I'm too old to understand this new pop rock stuff. Indie is always hit or miss with me. This one just missed the mark. Similar to alt-J or OneRepublic. It sounds the same to me as the rest of the music being made today.

Vanilla alt rock from the late 90's. Not bad. Good music for anyone trying to dip their toes in the genre. Not too heavy or out there. Similar to light alt rock bands like P.O.D. or, in their first few songs which were more industrial, Living Color. Nice to see New Zealand repped.

This is like jazz crossed with hip hop or electronic dance back beats, and Latin (samba) undertones. Very unique, very interesting. The lively back beats kinda add something to the normally bland jazz, plus they got in a few heavy hitters like Jocelyn Brown and George Benson on a few songs as well.
Reminds me of that band Gotan Project we had in the 1001 list.
