Like every Beatles album, some all time classics and a dud here and there. Potentially the most soulful-voiced Lennon period.

Makes Trout Mask Replica feel like easy listening

This is Radiohead at their most unadulterated and their straight-up rockin’ best. Other albums might be conceptually better or a more ‘interesting’ album, but you’d be hard pressed to find one with a better crop of straight tunage.

Really liked this to start and then got slowly more and more tired of it. Not bad, vaguely baroque Bob Dylan-esque tracks.
Well, here it is, the King of Weird Albums.
I’m just on the edge of breaking through and really digging this, but it’s just slightly out of reach currently.
4 stars… for now.

Thought I was gonna like this more than I did. The first half didn’t really do it for me, boring rendition of Grapevine, though the 10 min track didn’t earn its length. But very much enjoyed the second half and its Motown, Northern Soul vibe.

Dave Mustaine’s vocals do nothing for me but the energy on this is insane! Good variety too
Rated 4/10
What’s annoying is I really liked the spooky soundscape aspect of this, but a lot of this was very boring and bland hip-hop. Wish there was more of the latter
Rated 8/10
You know what, I enjoyed this quite a bit. The title track was a little bit too old school Genesis for my taste, but this was fun

This has probably been my favourite full album of Joni’s I’ve listened to, every song isn’t amazing but it flows so well, you almost don’t need to worry about which song is which, just enjoy the album!
Rated 10/10
How can anyone hate this? The Isley Brothers started as a twisting soul band and ended up creating the funkiest tracks known to man. And every song is fantastic, great flow too. Adding this to the rotation
Rated 6/10
I like the un-relating drum-machine drums but I prefer it used more in something like Big Black. Hell of a lot of power in this album, liked the more soundscape-y parts and less when it turned into a weird metal pirate shanty.
Rated 8/10
I mean, yeah, the lyrics are totally over the top. But if it ain’t catchy!

‘It’s the end of something I did not want to end/beginnings of hard times to come/but something that was not meant to be is done/and things the start of what was’
This album has one of my favourites endings of all time, just a really nice sentiment, remember those words struck a chord when I first heard them.
I first heard The Streets as a kid and thought it was so messy (Fit But You Know It was everywhere tho and I thought that was a tune). But anyone who thinks Mike Skinner takes himself super seriously and thus thinks this is wank is a fool.
Sure, the there are some songs in here with poor lyrics (Get Out Of My House) and some with too much exposition (What Is He Thinking?) but the balls to do a rap opera for your second album is pretty bold. It’s just also really good and I need to represent the UK contingent on here

Some nice moments but oh my god Neil, these songs do not need to be 10 mins.
Thought the final track was stellar tho!

Interesting. The nuclear story thread was cool, liked the South Asian influenced tunes, but a lot was very forgettable.

Yep, totally fine, nice for a sunny day, but none of my fav Bob Marley tracks on here. The studio version of No Woman, No Cry on here is just not as good as the live version
Rated 6/10
I mean, nice to have some modern country that isn’t blown out, over-produced dreck. This was pretty but never really made me excited. That last song did not need to be 14mins either.
Rated 6/10
5 of these tracks were pretty nice and chill. But who convinced Tim that Gypsy Woman needed to be 12 mins??? A 3, but this album is on very thin ice
Interesting! Like a calmer funkier What’s Going On.
