So progressive and funky do like it but needs a few listens

This really won me over, it's sunny and catchy and it feels less detached than a lot of the other 60s bossa nova I've heard
Rated 8/10
This is sick, don't really follow the grunge classification other than being from Seattle but ngl I've never understood how all those bands relate anyways
Rated 8/10
The a-side of this is approaching 5* territory, there's definitely a fall-off but I kinda appreciate the eclectic nature of all of it? 4* might be a bit silly ultimately but I do like it a fair bit and frankly I'm starstruck by I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night which has to be one of the best psych rock songs of that decade
Rated 6/10
I didn't love the other Doors records in the list but can't deny I got a bit excited when Break On Through started... Jim Morrison sounds a lot more energised here but overall it's not that interesting even if the highs are pretty high (Light My Fire is great and The End is definitely pretty cool)
Excellent record, sounds like a completely different genre to all rap before it and to be honest after it as well other than like rap rock and rap metal maybe
Rated 6/10
One of those polarizing albums where I feel somehow in both camps, feels bizarre to give it a 3* but I feel like if I listened to it a year down the line it might be a 2*, or a 4*, or even a 1* or 5*
Rated 4/10
Didn't do much for me, sorry Holger

Wasn't quite like what I expected, yet I was definitely intrigued by it! Would maybe revisit and a few tracks are going into rotation including In Your Eyes which I believe is in Say Anything, a film I really like!
Pretty decent record but it's a bit samey right? Has some slow tracks but every song is about a night out in Sheffield
Rated 8/10
I kinda 'understand' Pixies now, had never really done more than respect them before but this sound is electric
Rated 8/10
Actually such a classic, on second listen it all clicked together. The first five full tracks are unbelievable, it has a few filler throughout but it is such a breezy 60 mins in total and well worth a place on the list
Rated 6/10
Kind of a strange album... Ends on a bang though
Rated 8/10
So camp and spooky, love it!!
Rated 6/10
There are like 3 or 4 great songs here and potentially a thematically satisfying album but there's a lot of what feels on first listen to be random filler or overlong tracks for me to go higher than a 3*
Rated 8/10
Waiting for the Bob Marley 5* but his stuff is always really good, rhythm section extremely in the pocket great vocals etc
Rated 8/10
Yeah I mean it's smooth soft rock etc but if you just look at it as a pop album it's pretty masterful
Rated 6/10
I like this but I think they refine their sound over the next few. It's cool to hear this stuff and it's basically heavy nasty blues rock, not something I'd necessarily have expected when you see how this was rejected by critics at the time
Rated 4/10
I admire how goofy the lead vocalist is on this record compared to the later stuff? Just wish the band was also a bit more out there in places, I did like a few tracks but there were also a few that I really didn't enjoy
Rated 8/10
The mix of genres here is so fun to listen to, big 4* for sure
