I can't make my mind up about Neil Young. I keep wanting to write him off, then there'll be a track that piques my interest, and then the harmonica hits... argh!

Bert Jansch is a new one on me. It was pleasant enough. Doubt I'd revisit.

Had a listen to this when I first picked up the 1001 albums book a couple of years ago, thought it was ace. Turns out I have a soft spot for riot grrrl bands. It's been on regular rotation ever since.

Ah, the sound of the summer afternoon, outdoors, with a refreshing drink in hand.

Having never heard of Nanci Griffith before, I was fully expecting to trash this album, but it turned out strangely endearing.

Unsure how to rate this as an album. I think the question (about its inclusion in the 1001) is, have you listened to any Fats Domino before? No? Then you'd be better listening to one of the several greatest hits compilations.
Do I like Fats Domino and a few of his songs? Yup sure. I'm less interested in this particular album.

I remember this as one of the first pay-what-you-want albums, I thought I'd do the decent thing and paid £10 for it. Later I found a bunch of my mates paid £0, and made fun of me for being a mug... bloomin' cheapskates!
Turns out that I didn't like the album, and the cheapskates loved it, go figure!

Just another ex-1001 album!™

...and the winner of the best name spoken in a Scouse accent goes to... 🤪
Aguilera has a great voice and range, I'm sure her fans love her, but this album wasn't for me, it's far too long and far too much warbly oversinging.
Rated 6/10
Tricky to judge this, did I like it? In places, yes. Would I listen again? Probably not.
Rated 4/10
I kept losing interest in the album, then there'd be an interesting riff or lyric that I'd pick up on, and then I got bored again.
The artwork is groovy!
The album was alright, but I got distracted by googling what an "electric jug" was... turns out that it's literally a bottle... um, okay. Oh yeah, the album, yeah it was alright for psychedelic 60s.
Rated 8/10
As daft as it is, I enjoyed this a lot!
Rated 6/10
Feels a bit dated, but still enjoyed it!

I'm not sure we need 3 Morrissey albums on the 1001 list. I didn't hate it, but it didn't entice me much either. 2.5

Elvis Costello has generally be a good discovery (for me) on the 1001 list, but 6 albums??!! That's enough for the book.
Anyway, I did like this one, Oliver's Army is the highlight.
Rated 8/10
A lovely, intimate and bittersweet album.
Enjoyed much more than I anticipated. I liked the 60s pop, faux-innocence and heart-warming harmonies.

I laughed at the "END IT!" soundbite in the closing of the opening track. I was thinking the same thing, just end the song already.
The album itself is okay, the retro 60s indie pop inspired style is nice enough, but it's largely forgettable.
Rated 10/10
While not perfect, it is great, I was close to giving it a 4, but Setting Sun tipped me up to a 5.

Every day I'm ramblin'!
