Damn, if the solo stuff is this good, then I REALLY need to check out more of the Beach Boys.

Damn, hearing Southern Man made me realize that Sweet Home Alabama is way more racist than I initially thought.

This had a lot more of a southern/country flair to it than I expected it to. Surprised I don't see anyone else mentioning that. Am I crazy?
Anyway, I really dig this. 4.5/5

Not really my thing, but still enjoyable.

I liked the first song. Yeah, that's about it.

Somehow I get the feeling that gays are not the target audience for this.
I love weird, whacky, whimsical shit.

This style of music has never really been my thing. Despite that, though, I think this is one of the better albums in this genre. There were quite a few songs I liked. The opening track especially is great. Will I regularly return to this in full? No, probably not. But I still really respect it.

I've been wanting to check out Sheryl Crow's stuff for a while now but just never got around to it until now. I don't know why, but for some reason I was under the impression that she was more of a folk, singer-songwriter type of artist. Akin to Joni Mitchell or Carole King. This album was a lot more poppy than I expected it to be. It's like a mix between Alanis Morissette and Shania Twain. I didn't think I had heard any of her stuff before listening. Now I realize I've heard All I Wanna Do on the radio absolutely nonstop, I just didn't know it was her.
All that being said, this album is pretty middle of the road for me. Disappointing for an artist that I was looking forward to. The songs that were good were pretty damn good, but most of it just seems like filler. This is just her debut though. I can tell she has a lot of talent here even if it isn't top notch. Maybe her later albums are better? I hope so.

Meh. Not bad. Not great either.

I was surprised when I read the release date for this. I thought for sure it must have been from the 70s. A newer album that is completely new to me from an artist that is completely new to me, and yet this feels like a flashback to the past. It makes me nostalgic for a decade that I wasn't even alive in. What a great fucking album.

I really liked the first half. I think it started to lose it's touch when it stopped being instrumental, and the songs with lyrics would've been better with either no lyrics at all or at minimum a different singer. Still a good listen though, but not sure it needed to be on this list.

Honestly outside of Tiny Dancer, most of this album just feels like filler. It's pretty damn good filler though, outside of Indian Sunset. 3.5/5

It's definitely madness, but there's a method to the madness. I don't want to listen to it again, but it was interesting. I respect it.

Finally, an album that TRUELY deserves to be on here! Feels like I haven't gotten an album like this in years. Generator, more like this please!
Rated 5/10
I really enjoyed the opening track. The rest of the album was pretty underwhelming after that, but it was still decent.
