Good album. Singable. Melodic. Rhythmic.

The Pretenders are a great band but they would be nothing without Chrissy Hynde. She’s got a great voice. Check out Mystery Achievement for a good example of her sonic capabilities.

Prototype for “rock with horns”. Good album

I got a preview - Apple Music wanted $10.99 to listen to it all - and concluded it is not for me.

It’s like the Escher Demos - stripped down to the basics. A melody and a beat and a lyrical idea. I hope to discover what more there is of him.
Fun to hear these old cowboy songs. This album came out towards the end of Hollywood’s westerns obsession, ensuring a big audience. For all its quality it shows its age.

Created as an act for a kids tv show. Aside from their handful of hits their stuff is meh. Why listen to them when you can have the real Beatles?

What a thrill to relive all those 80’s dance parties I remember. Along with many more that I can’t remember.
Mostly good sometimes great, often too far out there for me.

High energy and interesting lines. Not my favorite genre though

Not terrible but so one dimensional I can only take a few tracks before I look for something else

Not my thing. But it was short so…

Not bad but using the same rhythm for most of the album gets boring.
