Not great, but not terrible.

Terrible.

I hate french in rock music. I didn't enjoy this. Sorry, it's not that bad but I just hate french sometimes.
Rated 4/10
It's interesting. Yeah.
I am never going to listen to this ever again but I appreciate those that made this list for putting it on here

This is why I signed up for the generator. I’d never heard of The Young Gods before and based on the reviews, I would never have sought this out (even the good ones didn’t make it sound like my cup of tea) but I really enjoyed it. Who knew I liked Swiss industrial rock with a dash of the theatrical? Not me.
Rated 6/10
A pretty strong start that mellows out quick in the middle and end. Not bad at all, but certainly inconsistent. 3/5

30 seconds in, I'll say that I'm intrigued. Who knows if I'll like it (so far it sounds a little like circus music), but it's going to be completely new to me, and that's fun and interesting. I've gotten so tired of cookie cutter 70s rock, so anything new and/or different is so refreshing.
OK, on to the actual thoughts about the album: It's not great. I don't know who this is for, really. It kind of reminds me of industrial in parts, but there's also a whole lot of something that sounds like an accordion. The vocals are kind of shit. All the lyrics are in French, so maybe it's genius lyrically, but I don't speak French. Overall, it's kind of experimental rock. Not the worst I've heard, but nothing I'm clamoring to hear again.
Look, I stand by everything I said in the first paragraph. Discovering music is fun and energizing, and it's really the whole reason I started this project. That said, they can't all be zingers! And that's OK! So 5 stars to the project for including something unique and original, and 2 stars to the album for being a bit shit.

I don’t mind it being French. I do mind it being shit.

This album does a really good job at creating a sense of unease. I wasn’t a big fan of how the album started. I think the second track onward is where it hits its stride. Unfortunately I don’t speak French so while I’m sure he was saying some deep things it mostly just sounded like the vocalist was trying to poop. Best songs were Rue Des Tempetes, Longue Route, and Les Enfants.
Rated 6/10
Swiss industrial rock, sung in french. It sounds like if Tom Waits was French and got really into Nine Inch Nails and Rammstein. Quite interesting if nothing else, and not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I actually didn't mind it.
Favourite songs: Longue Route, Pas Mal, Ville Notre, Rue Des Tempetes, L'Eau Rouge
Least favourite songs: Les Enfants

3,5 ster.

Not a huge fan of this one, but I can't call it bad. There's some interesting stuff here, but it didn't flow well to me. There were moments that the singer sounded like the singer from Rammstein decided to learn french. 2.5/5

Ok, but like the NIN x Pink Floyd comments are pretty spot on. It also acquired Metallica growling. Meh.
Rated 6/10
Weird album
I've heard worse on here, and to be honest I quite enjoyed the guitar parts

My ears are never going to financially recover from this.
Rated 2/10
Extra half-star for the cool orchestral elements. And honestly, there are some other musical elements that pop up every now and then that I don't hate. But for the most part, this is verrrrrrry much not for me.

I have no idea what is happening on this album. Its like French heavy rock with a touch of pop. its not for me at all.
The album has so moments of dramatic and great music such as Les Enfants but the rest of it is drivle.
Favourite song: Les Enfants
Least favourite: The rest of the album
Album artwork: Cool cover

Starter rimelig industrielt, noget som Marilyn Manson godt kunne have hørt.. Men bare mere poppet.
Produktionen lyder stadig rigtig godt, så jeg synes egentlig fint at det holder her 35 år efter sin udgivelse.
