In Dolly Parton we trust

Rated 4/10

she has a good voice

I think a fair summary of this album is that it’s exactly what you’d expect from a Dolly Parton album. It’s fine but a bit too old school country and western for me and likes the punch of a 9-5 or Jolene to lift this beyond just being a reasonable listen.

Rated 6/10

I do love Dolly's voice, and I enjoyed the album, though I don't think any particular song stood out over any other. I liked it enough to listen to the album twice, yet nothing has really lodged itself in my brain. I am however now hugely curious how many times Dolly had written "Mama" or "Momma" into her song lyrics...

I am still looking for the Dolly album that I can really love, because I think there's probably one out there.

I think this is really a 2.5 album for me, but I'm going to give a generous rounding up as it's better than a 2.

A sweet little album. I found the songs pretty simplistic with nothing I'd heard of, but I guess she couldn't write bangers all the time.

Probably great if you love country but it's not really my bag. Due respect for all she's done though.

Rated 6/10

Not the style of country I'm into. 1 point for Dolly being iconic. 1 point for songwriting. 1 for it being a 27 min album. 3/5.

Rated 6/10

I never really have any strong feelings either way about music like this. Some of the bass playing and especially Dolly's voice are very good here though and elevates this album. A high 3

Very sweet, very personal lyrics. Twang not overwhelming. Vocals heavy on vibratto, but that's part of her signature style, isn't it?

Another exception to my general dislike of country.

Rated 6/10

Songwriting isn't super strong, but Dolly's charisma makes up for that to provide a pretty good listening experience

Hello, Dolly! We all love Dolly-the-human, but do we love Dolly-the-album? We think it's OK. Yet another album that evokes... Children's Favorites. Nice messages, very inviting.

Highlights: 'Coat of Many Colors', 'A Better Place to Live' (surprise surprise, I like the la-la-la-las)

great album

It's pretty shit, but I can't give Dolly less than a 3.

Rated 3/10

Meh. Love Dolly, but this was not exactly music history.

Rated 6/10

Not a bad album. Dolly Parton can sing, but it's just not music I care to listen to. 3/5

Rated 10/10

This gives me one question: how the fuck did we go from this to the modern radio dog shit that we all call country nowadays? The songs are sung with talent and passion, something sorely lacking in modern country. They all have very down to earth lyrics retelling tales of life in America.

Can’t really knock Dolly can you

Rated 8/10

I really enjoyed this. Her voice is so great, and I like country more than I thought I did.

Pleasant country tunes by a fabulous vocalist

Я поважаю Доллі Партон, але такий кантрі-сторітелінг веселий мені не те щоб прям не подобається, але й якось прям кайфанути від такого не можу.
