Was an interesting album to rebuild a koi pond to all morning. Not sure if it would fit with another scenario in my life as well?

LCD was always more of my brother's band. They're great but they never moved me the way they did him. I still think this is an amazing album filled with wry messages drunkenly mumbled at a bar that should have closed a couple of years ago. Somehow now set to idiosyncratic tunes that border on the theatrical. Did...did I just listen to a musical?

Had no clue that the lead vocalist was Steve Winwood. His vocals on this record were really great but I suppose he hadn't really found his signature voicing by this young age? Some nice tracks on this album. Definitely sort of an oddity in a good way. I'd probably spin it up again.

I have a certain degree of antipathy for Slash's high school roommate Lenny.
His songs dominated the airwaves. Particularly his worst songs.
After listening to this album I will give him his due that he does in fact have better songs. They are not for me but they are well executed and his lyrics, while sometimes a bit dopey, are decent enough.
My antipathy has waned.

Drones a bit but I like the lyricism and point of view.
Rated 4/10
Charming for a bit but a little too anachronistic and twee even for 25 minutes.
It is a good album that has some slower spots. It definitely cemented Tribe as being their own sound and thing. I like it but it isn't my favorite work by them. It feels bizarre that only a year later they made a quantum leap in terms of quality and cohesion with Low-End Theory? Maybe this was just a bit too meandering for me? Not sure who was involved from final production standpoint between these two albums.

I have always been on the outside of Dead fandom looking in. I think this album finally clicked something for me. This was just a really great rock album with some jam jaunts that, despite playing out for longer than I am used to, were entertaining. I liked it.

It's an almost perfect album. Lyricism. Artistry. Stories. Riffs. I've heard it probably too much as a demo album in stereo shops and stuff and I almost downgraded it due to overfamiliarity but trying to take it at its own merit it's just a really, really good album.

Not my extended play cup of tea.
Rated 4/10
Not my kind of listening but charming in its own way.
Not for me. Felt like someone making fun of the 60's obsession with renn faire music. But, no...it's just too earnest.
Rated 8/10
Just an absurd album. It's dumb. It's ridiculous.
Also, those people can sing.

This is a classic. But it's a classic I grew up listening to interminably. I don't hate it. I love it the way I loved my old toys. On a shelf these days. It's cool to take it down and peruse but I find myself asking how I got so lost in it all? It's like I can't quite find the door to step inside that world again with this album?
Strangely, I don't have this issue with The Wall.
It's still an amazing album but it's not the perfect slick black masterpiece for me that it was at 13 upon my father's turntable.
It's human and, despite its mythos, it's just a really good album with long expanses I've maybe too often walked across to appreciate the vista as much as in my youth.
That's a me problem but then...it's my review.

Didn't care for this as much as the other bum I caught of theirs on here. It did feel a little more rock oriented which was nice though.
Rated 6/10
It felt like an intersecting of bands I like but not the parts of the bands that I care for. It wasn't bad. It just never made its way to a really memorable moment for me.

I quite like the lady version of Bukowski. She's tough but fair and we need more like her.

I could do without the alternate repeat tracks on an errand like this but it's such a solid album. How these guys weren't as big as Metallica is just dumb luck and marketing machinery.
Rated 8/10
It's a fantastic album with incredible production and arrangement. It emerged like a rocket from the sea of new wave at the time and still persists. Not perfect but a damn good album.
Rated 4/10
Not awful but a bit schmaltzy for me.
