Cool album. It's a really strong flavor so you have to be in the mood. I kind of was and wasn't. Trying to be objective about its place in time I have to critically say that it feels a touch repetitive even in considerations of contemporary artists. Maybe that is the Tabla influence? It is, to an extent, a trance album. That said so is Terrence Mckenna and his works at an earlier time were frankly a tad more stimulating to me personally.

Fun and easy and kind of odd in a pleasant way. Definitely emulating antiquity in a talented way. Pretty good.

The f*cking temerity. What collection of troll critics landed this three hour long concept album on this list. I have lots to do today...guess the majority of this Saturday will be spent getting my business accounts all balanced whilst pining for love like a beheaded fowl. It's fine. F*ck. Turns out it's still a really interesting if resentable album.

I really don't enjoy the Beatles. They are varied and explore genre effortlessly. That said, there is still that sound that they have. Their signature. It just never really didn't for me. Pretty sizeable catalogue and I maybe really enjoy 7 songs? I think the problem is me. This is a perfect album. I'm just not the perfect audience for it.

A bit ambient for me. I'm good with instrumental and like a lot of jazz but this was like trance music in a number of ways. Not something that moved me. Perhaps there's a technical thing I am unaware of or a place in history that this snugs into that adds gravity to the album.

Really engaging r&b stuff. Lovely, dark, and rich. Feels like it's a pastiche of multiple decades. Nice.

Great and really fun album. Incredibly rich sound. Surprisingly well mixed for the era.

Hot FussThe Killers

Rated 6/10

I host karaoke. Have for quite a while at this point. I have to hand it to the killers that they really get crowds engaged when they are in "hit mode". I don't actually think this is a historically great album in terms of composition, narrative, or tone. It is not really fun despite what the disco drums tell me. Guitar, for me, on this album kind of saves it. I've seen a few live videos. That guy is machine precise. Singer is great too. Just theatrical in a way that leaves me cringing as much as I'm enjoying. Not a bad album but maybe too oversaturated with praise. If it was unknown I probably would not be so rough...so 4 stars?
